This is a copy of President George Washington’s Thanksgiving Proclamation published in the Massachusets Sentinel, Wednesday, October 14, 1789. The english spoken back then was a little different but in spite of that you’ll still see how God really was the focus of this day. Also really cool is that President Washington proclaimed today to be a day of “Thanksgiving and Prayer”!!!!
I posted the picture of the original article because I thought it looks pretty neat. You can enlarge it by clicking on it or you can click on the link below to read the full text.

Make a joyful noise to the LORD, all the earth! Serve the LORD with gladness! Come into his presence with singing! Know that the LORD, he is God! It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name! For the LORD is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations. Psalm 100
With everything that we are let us give thanks to the LORD!!
Happy Day of Thanksgiving and Prayer everyone!
